About the Artists
Dr. Charles Tompkins is Distinguished University Organist and Professor of Music Emeritus at Furman University in Greenville, South Carolina. Recognized as one of America’s premier organ teachers and concert organists, Tompkins holds bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral degrees from the Eastman School of Music and the University of Michigan. He performs each year at universities and major churches across the United States and Europe, having played at Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris, the Kennedy Center, the Basilica of the Shrine of the Immaculate Conception in Washington DC, and the Spoleto Music Festival in Charleston. An active church musician throughout his career, Tompkins has been the organist of Greenville’s historic First Baptist Church since 1997.
Gregory Tompkins holds a B.M. in violin performance from the Eastman School of Music and recently received his master’s degree from the New England Conservatory. He has participated in a variety of summer festivals across the United States, including the Music Academy of the West, Spoleto Festival USA, the Castleman Quartet Program, and the National Repertory Orchestra. Gregory concertizes regularly in solo and chamber recitals across the eastern United States and has performed as a member of the Civic Orchestra of Chicago.

The Green is now open for event parking. After 6, parking in downtown Gloucester is free and there are several lots nearby. When parking in and around the area, please make sure not to block our neighbor’s driveways.
