Welcome the Stranger Concert

Saturday, September 14th, 2019, 7:30pm

Although the concert is not being hosted by the Gloucester Meetinghouse Foundation, this is a special event sponsored by the Gloucester Unitarian Universalist Church that we thought you might like. The Gloucester Unitarian Universalist Church presents an evening of music to benefit Wellspring House on Saturday, September 14 at 7:30 p.m. at 10 Church Street in Gloucester. The program opens with a set by the a cappella ensemble ‘leven, followed by a performance by pianist Jacqueline Schwab.

Harry Hinlian

The 2021 summer music series is dedicated in memory of the late Harry Hintlian, a former GMF board member, philanthropist, and avid environmentalist. Together with his wife Mary, Harry was a generous donor towards the ongoing preservation and improvement of the Meetinghouse. One of those gifts was three hectares of land, newly-planted with specialized trees in Costa Rica and managed by Reforest the Tropics. Founded by Harry Hintlian, RTT is the only United Nations sanctioned carbon sequestration project to permanently gather and sequester CO2. In addition to the Meetinghouse’s extensive insulation and energy conservation measures, this gift resulted in the historic building becoming one of the few “net zero,” or carbon neutral, examples in America.

Don’t forget!
