TownGreen2025 Climate Crisis Solutions: Larry Cretien

Thursday, May 28th, 2020, 3:00pm

Larry Chretien, Executive Director of the Green Energy Consumers Alliance, will discuss how his organization covers both policy advocacy at the state house and launches green energy programs aimed at the community and individual level. Mr. Chretien will address his lobbying work, diversity, equity and inclusion in climate work, the Drive Green program, and his work on municipal aggregation.

Harry Hinlian

The 2021 summer music series is dedicated in memory of the late Harry Hintlian, a former GMF board member, philanthropist, and avid environmentalist. Together with his wife Mary, Harry was a generous donor towards the ongoing preservation and improvement of the Meetinghouse. One of those gifts was three hectares of land, newly-planted with specialized trees in Costa Rica and managed by Reforest the Tropics. Founded by Harry Hintlian, RTT is the only United Nations sanctioned carbon sequestration project to permanently gather and sequester CO2. In addition to the Meetinghouse’s extensive insulation and energy conservation measures, this gift resulted in the historic building becoming one of the few “net zero,” or carbon neutral, examples in America.
