Due to the pandemic that restricted large gatherings, our early spring concert celebrating the 335th birthday of Johann Sebastian Bach was postponed. We are hopeful that this stellar event can be rescheduled for March 2021. The Appleton Consort will perform some of Bach’s most beloved orchestral works including the Orchestral Suite No. 3 in D Major, the Violin Concerto in A Minor, Sinfonia from Cantata Am Abend aber desselbigen Sabbatas, Sinfonia from Cantata Mer Hahn en neue Oberkeet, the Harpsichord Concerto No. 5 in F minor, and the Brandenburg Concerto No. 1 in F major. Each piece will be performed on period instruments and according to the instrumentation that Bach intended. Event details subject to change.
Address: Gloucester UU Church — 10 Church Street, Gloucester, MA 01930
Do you love our programs at the Meetinghouse? Would you like to support our summer concert series in support of worthy local non-profits as a Sponsor? Last year we raised over $18K in free will donations while featuring great local musical groups and offering delicious food from local vendors. We call it doing good while having fun! All the proceeds go to our partner non-profits, so we rely entirely upon Sponsors like you to pay the expenses. Being a Sponsor is a great way to support your community and to have your name or business listed on all of our posters, season cards, and online publicity.
